Where I work we are currently looking at replacing our current AT&T Legend phone system with either a Mitel 3300 or Toshiba CIX200 using VOIP phones. I've looked at both systems and feel that either phone system would do a great job. Can any one give me some good points why I should choose Mitel over Toshiba.

Thanks.

I don't know anything about Toshiba, so I don't have a good reason to choose Mitel over Toshiba other than preference.

Unusual to hear the two brands mentioned in the same sentence. Toshiba I think of as middle of road key system stuff common in small businesses. Mitel is enterprise-grade. Yeah, they make some small systems fairly common in the hotel/motel market but IMO the two are like comparing Hyundai and Lexus. Donald Trump once had a Mitel SX200 on one of his Yachts.

I have worked with both systems and I agree with MitelInMyBlood. The Toshiba is a good system for Small Businesses that are stand alone, ie... they don't have branch offices, remote sites or remote users. The VOIP with the Toshiba has nowhere near the reliability or functionality of the Mitel and is rather behind most other VOIP systems. I have installed many Toshibas in businesses like doctor's offices, car dealerships, etc... Those places typically don't need or want the VOIP functions as they really are not needed. It is a good Cheaper system!

If you are looking for a great VOIP phone system, I really don't think that you have to look anywhere else but the Mitel product, either the 200 ICP or the 3300 ICP. These systems are very flexible in most situations and they also have embedded Voice Mail. I am pretty sure that for the Toshiba system, you would need to purchase the VMail as an extra. Actually, you will probably get a package price, so you may not know that unless told.

Good Luck.

I forgot to add that the Toshiba product is a VERY new offering, bound to have some bugs.

The Mitel product has been offered for 3 years or more. Most of the bugs have been fixed. The only bugs that occur now mainly occur to new functions being added.

So, you may feel like you are a guinee pig/testing ground for Toshiba!
