Hi,

Newbie here...

Is there a set of steps/options to log all incoming calls?
Should I set these options per trunk or station/phone?

Is it possible that I already have the logging for "incoming" calls enabled?
How would I know and what commands can I use?

This is what I know how to do by extension but I can;t get incoming calls - just outgoing I think...AFAIK?

logs read smdr all match "8740"

Can anyone verify or have any hints out there?
TIA!

SP

The incoming calls are enabled in the SMDR Options form.

By default the system will store 20,000 call records before overwriting. You can increase this number but it is not recommended.

As for collecting the data, I would setup a PC to collect data on telnet port 1752.

Hi kwbMitel,

Ok, Enabled by SMDR options:

Report Incoming Calls: Yes

Is this option? It is already on.

I need to track a incoming call from an employee that has already called a DID/internal number from outside the company on the 21st of this month!
Can I do it?

I won't mess with the default stuff - ok.

I have an extra laptop to set for telnet and port 1752?
Not sure how to route those PBX packets to my IP connected Laptop.

Sounds complicated - can you elaborate further?
Thanks.

1. Check the settings in the SMDR Options form (see the online help for this, some of them can be tricky).

2. Set SMDR-External to "yes" in both the trunk and station COS

3. When running the "logs read smdr all match" command, don't put quotes around the match string.

Hi Lundah,

I checked the options in the online help for the SMDR form.
Aside from the Report Incoming Calls - I see no other option to enable.

SMDR-External is already set on the statin COS.
I am unsure what trunk to set this option - it may already be setup - how can I check - what form?

Ok, I tried the search without the quotes - I think I am still getting info with the outgoing call info?
How can I read/tell?

Sorry about the lack of Mitel experience - I'm tryihng to get info from the online help and also have no manuals for the system from our vendor...

Thanks!

The logs in your post are outgoing. The columns are:
Date, time, length of call, originating trunk/DN, digits dialed, destination trunk/DN.

First thing I would do is issue "logs read smdr oldest 10" to make sure the record you're looking for is still in the buffer.

Then, if you know the date, I'd use that for the search string ("logs read smdr all match 06/21"), copy and paste the results into Notepad, and then use Notepad's "find" function to search for the specific string you're looking for.

Hik Lundah,

I can get the 10 oldest entries - they are from 06/09.

LOGSYS info: READ completed for SMDR log with 10 entries.

But when I use your command to search for 06/21 it fails...

Any other ideas?

Thx.

Hi,

Ok, I used the "06/21" in quotes and that worked.

But, I still can't see the incoming call digits.
We have caller ID setup here for incoming calls.

From the info you mentioned on the query of smdr logs - I see that the originating trunk is T201 - I tried looking at trunk options and other forms for trunks on our Mitel 3300 and I can't seem to find any info relating to setting up "smdr - external" for incoming calls?

I found trunk 201 on our PRI but am unable to to see any value that related to incoming calls.

Please help me figure out how to log incoming calls.
Sounds like this is not an easy task.
Any further hints are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

SP

The SMDR extended record needed to be enabled for SMDR to store the Inbound CallerID.

This would not be retroactive.

If I read the situation correctly, you're outta luck.

Thanks Lundah & kwbMitel.

I have to set a number of options to enable the SMDR COS Reporting level 1 perhaps.

I have our local phone vendor researching.
I think we can log incoming calls but wanted was fuzzy about what options to choose to accomplish.
