Hi Mitel Gurus,

We just upgraded to a 3300 and have the embedded voice-mail.
Some users are getting cut off when they try and leave a message.

I have the Web-based Admin tool(no Ops mgr) and I have scoured all forms and System admin + config options as well as help.

Is there a setting for "length of message" in seconds/minutes or a default value that I can increase/decrease?

Thanks for any help on issue!

SP

At what point are they cut off?. beginning, middle during a pause for breath, mid word?

Is there anything in common with the cut off calls, particular VM, cell phone call?

What type of trunking?

No, there isn't a limit you can adjust.

Hi KwbMitel,

I'd like to change my question since I have more information now! Sorry...

It appears that this issue relates to phone calls or outside conversations.

A few users were talking to someone on an outside call on a land line. The line would go "dead" during the conversation for a second or less. But, they could continue talking - they did not seem to notice a breath or pause when talking...

Any ideas?
Thanks for any input!

Check the maintenace logs for Packet Loss.

At a guess, your network is not set up properly for VLANs and Prioritization.

I am assuming the set type is VOIP as you have not mentioned it.

Hi,

Ok, I'll check the Maint Logs.
It is a local netowrk - 192.168.0.X
We have a hybrid system - still have all the SX-2000 Per Nodes and PBX digital phones.
No VOIP yet...

Any other ideas?
Thanks,

SP

I don't have very much experience with the TDM sets and embedded mail.

Almost all of my sites use IP Sets.

I have not been experiencing cutoff issues with my systems.

sorry

Were they on speakerphone? Some Mitel phones have just horrible speakerphone. As I know 5215 (not Dual) just silence out for a while when on speaker.

Nope, I think they were on a regular phone call - no speaker phone - not sure of the other user's phone type or system.

Only affecting a few users so far - might be a specific phone issue - I'll find out more details.
thanks,

SP

sometimes when a user is recording their name and/or greeting they press a key to stop the recording and the tone gets embedded in the recording. What can happen is, while the name/message is playing the embedded tone is recognised as a caller action and the VM responds accordingly. If you find the issue is on specific users, call those users and listen to the entire greeting and also their name (plays from autoatt or when busy).
