Hi

Ive got a mitel 3300cxi and im experiencing problems trying to set up line key appearances. I have 4 analogue lines connected via embedded analogue board. i am usng 5212ip sets and the end user would like for all 4 lines to appear on keys, showing when they are busy and also abilty to retrieve calls on hold. Ive tried using dts but have failed!

any ways around this problem would be greatly appreciated!

When you say analog lines, do you mean TRUNKS or STATIONS?

If you mean stations, then there should be no problem with programming KEY LINE of an analog station that already exists on to any digital or IP set.

If you mean trunks, then there are a couple of ways to do it. My preference is to create on each set, that you want to have inbound trunks ring to, KEY LINE appearances of 4 DNs that are not in your dialing plan. Then place these 4 DNs into a Hunt Group (voice/terminal). Then assign the HG pilot DN to the Answer Point field for the Trunk Service number that you assign to the TRUNKS. The first call that comes in on any of the trunks will ring to the first member of the Hunt Group. The second call to the second member and so on.

TIP 1-: When you create the key lines on the IP sets, you will have to program as SINGLE LINE for the first set. After the DN exists in the system as a SINGLE LINE, then you can add additional appearances as KEY LINE.

TIP 2-: You can the KEY LINEs that appear on any set be "No Ring" or "Delay Ring". This means that you can have a set not ring on the inbound calls, but still see the condition of the call (ie. on hold, active call.)

TIP 3-: If the Key Line appears on a set, that set can very easily retrieve calls placed on hold by other sets.

Good Luck

Thank you for the reply paterson

Yes they are analogue trunks. But i think that may not work in my situation, reason being, i have analogue sets as well, and these analogue sets need to ring in a group with the ip phones, which i have used suite assignment to get them to ring altogether. so my trunk answer point is a speed dial assigned to my suite pilot to get the analogue and ip sets to ring together.

hi paterson

Thanks for your reply. I dont think that might work in my case, reason being that i have analogue phones ringing together with ip sets, using suite assignment and the suite pilot is assigned to a speed dial which is my trunk answer point. And from what i understand suite assignment is the only way to get analogue and digital/ip sets to ring together in a group. so i am unable to use a hunt group pilot as my trunk answer point.

miteldude,
Try to read Paterson's post one more time. Mitel has KEY SYSTEM emulation. It works exactly as you describe. Incoming calls set to hit this KEY SYSTEM line and then the light on the button will start flashing on all phone sets where this KEY LINE programmed. You retreive this call by pushing the button or you can put it on hold and make an announsment over the loud or direct paging system.
