Our phone servicer and Opera (Micros) are having difficulty getting the clean-room command to work through the guest room telephone (to Opera). The command is apparently *13 from the guest room phone to instruct Opera to make the room clean, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

The maid in room codes are simply the Feature access Code + a single digit. The single digit does not necessarily follow the Mitel standard. The Mitel system will allow digits 1-9. Typically, when I test, I dial each code and check the status in the PMS system before dialing the next. The Opera system can monitor wheter it is receiving the codes or not. Once confirmed that the system is sending the info, the problem is no longer yours.

For my part, I HATE troubleshooting this sort of thing. The issue is with the PMS system 99% of the time and they expect free tech support.

Thanks for this good info. I'm gonna stay on them until it's working [thumbsup]

very easy to troubleshoot. Just run a PMS trace in maintenance commands, while running go to room and type the code. command is PMS trace enable. You should see a string sts<status digit for this example we will say 3> and room number. example "STS3 201"
If this doesn't appear then your config on the mitel or your code is incorrect/incomplete. If the string does appear then you need to tell opera to interpret STS3 as room clean.
