I am in the midst of an acquisition of a small medical system that is using a Mitel 3000. I am wondering if this system is able to use wireless VoIP handsets and what the best voice mail system would be. They are complaining that their current voice mail system (unknown brnad name) is dropping calls. Any insights to this would be appreciated.

Mitel does support some wireless VOIP sets, more importantly is also the access points being used for the device and how they support handoff and other settings.

There are a few options for VM but I would stick with NuPoint on a MAS server appliance.

MAS/NuPoint won't work with 3000
I would suggest the 3000 is using its own voicemail, I don't think you will many options if any for 3rdparty voicemail.
I doubt it will support Wireless VoIP handsets either but I could be wrong.

Does it have the VOIP module?
Otherwise I have put wireless Plantronics on regular system Mitel 3000
