I am setting up a 3000 with digital sets at the host site and 1 5330 set at another location. Will the 5330 find its way back to the host site via static address or do I need a VPN tunnel. Thanks

What connects the LAN segments at the different locations? If you have to transverse the internet to go between sites then you need a VPN. If you have extended your LAN between the two locations then you most likely don't need a VPN for the set. For example we have a customer with the 3300 in one city and IP sets in another. The customer connects their LANs using MPLS so they don't need a VPN just for the phones.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.
