This is my first time working with a Mitel 3000. When a incoming call hits the system it rings 4 times then goes to the AA. In the AA the user is prompted to press 20 for 21 or 22 for different users. When a user presses any of these entries it rings for a set amount of time at that phone then goes into the VM box. I would like to be able to have it go straight into the VM box without the additional rings, is this possible? I have have been messing with it for awhile but was only able to get it to work using group mailboxes, which breaks the transfer to VM feature. Is there any way to transfer directly to a personal mailbox without the phone ringing?

Not that I know of, but depending on what software you're running on the later versions from the AA pressing 1 at the AA prompt will select ring group 20, pressing 2 will select ring group 19 and so on.- You could try this and it would at east tidy up and make your AA sound a bit more professional. (The latest software is 919) On the UK version you do get 'phantom' mailboxes which are extn 100 onwards, you could assign this extn only to a ring group and you will go straight to VM, but.... you will not get a MWI and the mailbox will have to manually checked for new messages

I just did what you mentioned, I assigned one user to each group 20, 19, 18. Then forwrded the groups to VM. This worked, and it did put a MWI on the phone assigned to the group the message was left in. The only downside is when a user pushes transfer to VM, the process is very complicated, because they have to select the group mailbox, wich I don't think you can change a name on. But I don't think there is a way around this. Thanks for the imput it was very helpful.
