Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to move an ext

Thanks

Move as in swap a port with another one that is assigned?

I need to move an EXT/ from one area to another and I don't know what screens to go to.

I want to perform the following steps.

I what I know so far is to go to the form screen option 9
then look find ext 127 esc 2
the bay 3 slot 01 cid 12

so i want to move ext 250 from 2/01/12 to ext 127 3/05/08 how do I do this

Please help

I can think of 2 ways.

1)Physically swap the cross connects on the blocks

2)Swap the PLIDs in Form 9. To that you'd have to either delete the extension 250 from one of PLID 02/01/12 or move it to an unused PLID, say 02/02/13(if it's not in use). Then move the extension 127 to the now unassigned PLID 02/01/12 and 250 to PLID 03/05/08

I haven't had the opportunity to swap a port in a Mitel yet. I've swapped many ports using method 2 above in Avaya platforms. I see no reason why this won't work.

I do not recommend deleting anything, ever, except as a last resort. There are things that get deleted that you might know nothing about.

For the above challenge, they can only be moved in software if both types of phones reside on the same type of card.

Even then, you need to play a shell game by moving 1 to a vacant port, moving the other the the recently vacated port and finally moving the 1st from it's temporary location to it's new home where the 2nd phone was.

There are too many assumptions that I need to make to get any more detailed than that.

Very enlightening kwbMitel. Wow, nothing is truly easy to do in a MiTel system so far. Daddy69693, take KwbMitel's advice; he hs much more experience with MiTel systems than I do. He's been nothing but helpful to me.
