My customer A Hotel)is having Mitel Pherpheral Cabinets Loaded with 16 port ONS and 16 Port DNI cards.

Most of the guest extensions gets faulty every now and then. What could be the issue??

What is the normal DC voltage at the port when the port is idle.??

Is it because of the cabling the ports are getting faulty??

I found below;
Analog phone not working in Room no 232 - MDF side 19 V IDF side 7V

Analog phone working in Room no 217 -MDF side 48V IDF side 21V.

To start with, please confirm this is a SX-2000

I'm not understanding the voltage differences MDF vs IDF - What is IDF in this context and why would the voltage be different?

The 7V value screams talk voltage at me meaning the cct is live. Have you tried a state command on the port when it is non-functional?

This was sx2000 system. Now we upgraded and all the pheripheral units are connected to Mitel Mxe III controller.

iDf means telephone room inside the guest floor.

Each guest floor will have seperate telephone room.

Extensions are patched to rooms from the telephone room.

Each IDF will have several backbone cable running to MDF.

I think there might be voltage drop due to the cable and because of this ports are getting burned.

Most of the ports are not working properly.
When we call to these faulty ports. It will ring and then will get disconnected.

Isolate the port from the cabling (i.e. disconnect jumper) and then ring, do you still get disconnected.
If not then definitely sounds like a cable fault.

after isolating the port also the call getting disconnected

I've seen ring trip issues on old SX-200 eqpt. It was caused by the relays burning out due to message waiting indicators.

Replacing the card was the fix.
