We have a Mitel 3300 running 5.5.1, we are trying to add some 5235 IP phones but they won't register. The only difference I can see between the these phones and the others that do work is that the boot code on the new phones is 02.03.02.08, our other existing phones have older boot versions, 02.00.02.19 for example.

Is this a problem with the DHCP options? The help tab in the Mitel configuration page mentions options 128-135 but our system only allows configuration for options 43 and 125, currently only the default of 125 is configured.

I have tried to configure the IP options manually, with no luck. The phones can ping the 3300.

I am new to Mitel (another data guy who inherited a phone system). Is it easier to downgrade the phones or upgrade the 3300? Are these my only options or is there another workaround?

Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance...

5.5.1? is either so old so as not to support 5235's or so new that it is not released yet.

If the former - toobadsosad.

If the latter - you should have support directly from Mitel.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Thank you.

Definitely too old.

It does run 5235's with older boot versions.

I'll have to see about upgrading the system I knew it was inevitable but had to explore all the options.

Thanks again.
