The problem I and am sure others are having is that when I open a Quark 5.0 document in Quark 6.1 everything thing seems fine and is complete. However when saved in Quark 6.1 and then reopened sometimes, not all the time, large sections of text is missing and all that is there is the text box with the little red box at the lower left indicating more text which there is none, pictures are missing also. This happens when I save the file to our server, if I save the same file to my desktop then reopen it everything is fine. Howerver this is alot more time consuming and saving it directly to the server folder where it is supposed to go would be perferable.

Why the text does this I haven't found a pattern yet however I believe I have found a pattern for the pictures, If the same picture file is in a document more then once it will only display one of those file and delete all others.

Is this a known issue there and is a fix currently being worked on?

This is a known issue and the fix you are using is probably the easiest.

Do you or anyone know what it is about the text disappearing?

Tony Perkins

Tony, as Bill states...the work round you have in place is the only fix I know of.

Basically, make sure you copy any legacy Quark to desktop before saving it as a 6 (back to desktop) then copy file back to server...all should then be happy in your world. (Thanks Quark for more problems).
