Newbie here, preparing for my CCNA and can't seem to get the Serial interfaces up with my Remote Lab or on my local Simulation. No actual hardware on site but the Remote Labs' claim that you're using actual equipment.
No problem with the Ethernet interfaces, just Serial. "show interfaces" after configuring IP/Mask on the interfaces via "SETUP", gives me "Serial0 down, line protocol down". Hardware config is similar to the following:

SWITCH----e0|ROUTER|s0---s0|ROUTER|e0---SWITCH

CDP on the routers is able to see the Switches after interface config, but the Serials' always show "Line Protocol Down"??? This is a very basic Lab, I've even tried configuring the Interfaces manually with "no shutdown" afterwards. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm "home-studying" on my own and stuck!!
Thanks-JohnK

Check to see that the DCE side of your connection has a "clock rate" command int the Serial interface section of the config. YOu can tell which end is DCE by running "Show controllers".

That's It!!! Please accept my eternal gratitude!
I'm amazed that I'm able to find very little regarding the importance of a "clock rate" setting, for those interfaces, in my study materials....including the official "Certification Guide" from Cisco Press.
Thank you again for you suggestion. -JohnK
