I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled ID CS2 so many times I'm going to wear out the CD. I own it, and I just purchased it through Amazon.com. This is a common problem, but Adobe support doesn't seem to be helping anybody. I have Doc 324343, and have followed its advice strictly ... still I get the same error. Has anybody worked their way through this successfully?

I have the same problem. Have followed adobe fix which didn't help.

Be sure Adobe Sams MM is in the right folder System Folder/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts/Reqrd/Base
InDesign need this MM font to start with.

I managed to rebuild the directory structure after I installed ID on my laptop, and all of the necessary fonts installed. I just copied all the fonts & folders from my laptop. You are absolutely right about what font was missing and causing ID to not load.

Thanks for the answer,
Laura

Can you tell me what the specific file name is for this Adobe Sams MM file? Or is that literally it?

Thanks,
Mitch

I can't find this file anywhere. Can someone tell me where to find it?

Hello...
I have the same problem. I work with a german version from Windows XP. My Indesign is an english version. How can I rebuild the paths?

I had the same problem working with windows xp. After several tries to solve the problem ( couldn't find the files neither), found the solution downloading the trial version. when you do it, in the tryout folder you'll find a folder called /Commonfilesinstaller/ from there you can install only the files or fonts that are missing in the full version( before doing this, delete the fonts folder already present in Program Files\Common Files\Adobe). so actually you don't need to install the try-out version, as this has anonther installer file. after doing this restart your computer en it should work (it did work for me).even if the files it installs in the fonts folder are different that the ones mentioned above.
