Hi

think my problem is user error but I have to ask.

Just been on site and a secretary is complaining that all her emails from the last two weeks are gone.

All Junes and julys are there as are emails from this week.

Nothing in thje recycle bin or deleted or Junk mail.

Can anyone think of a reason other than they were deleted?

thanks

Ian

What type of setup is this? Is it MS Outlook, MS Exchange, something else? What version of Outlook and Exchange?

Have you (or has she) tried looking under Tools - Recover Deleted Items? The newest versions of Outlook (2007 and 2010) seem to do a better job, or maybe it's the newer versions of Exchange, of keeping up with Outlook deletions than previous versions.

Hi

sorry, yes it's pop3 and Outlook 2007.

Where is tools- recover deleted items? Not listed on my menu

cheers

Ian

Probably not this but sometimes my version of Outlook "decides" to place a filter on the view I have of my emails....should be able to see in the view header "Filtered" or something similar if that is the case

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

POP3 and IMAP4 accounts don't support "Recover Deleted Items", I'm afraid.

Yeah, for a POP3 account, only backup you'd have is if you run back-ups yourself... or in a business, if they run back-ups on your pst files for you.
