Missing DLL File???

Hi,

I have a friends laptop and when it boots up to the desktop, get a error:

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\OOXJBPPC.DLL

The specified module cannot be found.

Anybody know why? I'm trying to get rid of it as its annoying but no luck.

It's not a good sign when google doesn't know that file.....

Will the machine start in safe mode? If so run some antivirus & anti-spyware scans

Then run System File Checker: sfc /scannow

The machine works fine in normal and safe mode but the pop ups just rather annoying and could do without it.

Probably a left over Service that is starting or trying to start...

so suggestion would be to look at all the services that are set to automatic, also check all autostart ramps for strange progs...

use HiJackThis and run it through an online analyzer or post it here...

So what did your antivirus & antispyware scans turn up when you ran them in safe mode?

i've managed to get rid of it!

i'd tried a registry cleaner before and it didnt work so i got a different one and now it's disappeared!!
