Missing CAP within the Primary Site

We have a SMS Primary site and several secondary sites. The secondary sites are fine but even though servers within the Primary site are configured in 'Site Systems' to act as CAP's there is no evidence of this in either 'Site system status' or on the servers D$. I have checked all the secondary sites and they have a CAP_XXX folder on the D$ but there's nothing on our Primary site server. What brought me to look into CAPs was that we are unable to install Client Agents on computers at our Primary site, it gets as far as 'SMS client based components' and 'Remote console' and then nothing.

We have Win2000 Workstations

I have tried manually creating a CAP using the 'New | Windows NT Share' method but still nothing.

It has worked, it's only in the past two weeks that this situation has occurred. The only system alteration during this time was the adoption of packaging.

We get the following error within the ccim32.log:

"\\CAP List for site LHQ not accessable"

We have reapplied SP4 several times.

I hope someone is able to help because we're seriously scratching our heads here.

Many thanks, Nathan.

SMS uses its own accounts to create these shares, and does not allow manual creation as far as i am aware, therefore it sounds like a uninstall and reinstall to clear this up, how that will fit with your child sites, i am not sure of.
