Missing Audit Trail on Server Edition 1

I'm running into a situation where the audit trails on two different server editions (one is 9.0.2.0 build 860; other is 9.0.100 build 845) have been cleared out when I know there have been config changes (merges). My hunch is that a reboot of the server itself (not simply restarting the services) is causing this but I don't have the ability to test this out. Has anyone run into this before? As far as I'm aware, nothing should be clearing the audit trail so I'm quite stumpted by this.

I just tried it on a non licensed virtual IPO on the same version and yes i see it too.
