I have a problem with the installation of Minuet ACD on a refurbished Rel.4.0 NAM. I have the installation diskette and have called and received from Cintech the key code number, and have followed the manual installation procedure. The floppy drive responses to the installing request, (the drive does work) however when I go to administer the ACD (feature 920) a flashing “inactive feature” appears on the display screen.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

you installed and it said install complete? thats every step

FG,
I can't remember if XFTEST works on a NAM but try it anyway. It is quite possible that F920 has been reasigned to a different code.

Missed mentioning to try F9*1.

Thank you all for your input. I have tried your suggestions, and unfortunately have not had any success. I e-mailed cintech, and they sent me a autoexec edit line to boot the NAM to.This solution was to rename any file pertaining to any previous installation. Allowing me to complete a new install. However this has also failed. After several attempts, I would like to share my obervaition with you.
Cintech procedure
(1) Make bootable floppy disk.
(2) Unzip cintech solution to bootable disk.
(3) Place bootable disk in floppy drive
(4) Reboot (gracefully) NAM
NAM will boot to disk; cintech solution will rename previous ACD installations.
There will be no tones or indications of completeness.
Wait about a minute after light on floppy disk disappears.
(5) Remove floppy disk
(6) Reboot NAM.
(7) Follow install procedure for Minuet.
Results
Brief minuet install procedure. (1). (2), (3), (4), (5), (6),
Step 7
Display one moment pls
Acd installing
Step 8 Install Key-Ok
Both the floppy drive and the hard drive responded to the ok command.
At this point, display returns to Date and time.
I never see Copying ACD % complete
Or copying startup.
Your suggestions are very welcomed.
Thanks for your time.

try this: after installing acd the way you did the first time and it comes up complete.
1 disconnect vm ports on nam
2 do feat ** 938378
3 pswd: 266344
4 first
5 press next till test
6 remove feat 920
7 reconnect vmail port(s)
8 power down then power up nam
9 wait a few minutes
10 now try it

Hey Mr. Gump,

Have you tried hooking a KVM Switch like Avocent and watching the system boot up. If you put the NAM on the Number 4 of the Avocent and actually visualize the boot up. The question of how the Minuet installs and where the install files go, could point you in the right direction. Just some heads up from the "Head of MIS", Jim C.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
I have tried all of them. In this case, Dupreet advice was correct.
Minuet was trying to load in the cinphony directory.
We remove all files in OS2 cinphony directory and reinstalled minuet.
Once again thank you for your time
