I recently purchased a used Minolta 2200. The CD that came with it did not have a driver for XP. I went on the net and found one and loaded it into a directory by itself. I then ran the setup file and it did its thing. I am now able to print with the Minolta. However, everytime I fire up my system, I get a message saying we found new hardware. I always have to get rid of these windows to go about my business.

My question is, how do I get my computer to know the hardware is working or is there something I should have done differently? I am using it as a parallel printer not on a network.

Thanks, John

Hi John,

XP is looking for an inf defining your printer. Instead of clicking cancel when you boot, click next, go through the process and when nothing is found click finish. This will add a question mark to the device manager but the printer will work fine and it won't ask for anything the next time you boot.

Have fun,
