We've recently upgraded to Office 2003 and it seems that the minimize document button is not in the title bar. Can we turn this on? If so how?

If you right click the title bar can you see the the commands to max , min etc.?

I believe the default settings (don't know if you can change them) for 200 and above, or at least 2002 and above, has the minimize button in the main titlebar, with only the "close" button left in the document menu bar. The reason being is that each document opens as a different application, similar to if you were to open multiple copies of notepad or calculator.

thanks mscallisto...when I right click on the title bar, I can select toolbars...no min or max

oops, when i posted, i meant 2000, not 200... probably figured that. There are 2 different places to right click - on the application title bar and document title bar - if you right-click application title bar, you will get the min/max/restore options; if you right-click the document title bar, you will get the toolbar options and such.

thanks kjv1611 ... we want to minimize just the document and not the application. When your right click anywere in that area you get options for toolbars.

Hi chambergirl,

I haven't got 2003 so this is a bit of a long shot.

Under Tools > Options > View tab, is there a WIndows in Taskbar checkbox? If so, uncheck it. If that works and you want more info, come back. If it doesn't, well I tried!!

Enjoy,
Tony
