Hi,

Need some help with this software. The firewall is currently accepting Ping, ICMP.

have a Mikrotik router software package running on a dedicated Linux Box.

I have two brand new nics, one is set for WAN and the other for Local.

The setup looks like this.

# DST-Address G Gateway Distance Interface
0 S 0.0.0.0/0 R 192.168.1.1 1 WAN
1 DC 192.168.1.0 R 0.0.0.0 0 WAN
2 DC 192.168.0.1 R 0.0.0.0 0 Local

The issue that I am experiencing is that I can ping from the ROUTER interface to both networks and get replies. I cannot however ping the ROUTER itself from any of the networks. Even What's Up Gold cannot find the router. I should be able to PING the box at least from the Local side but it does not work, no reply at all.

Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong on this?

If you haven't set a masquerade rule yet, in your Source NAT firewall settings, do so as follows: (From the terminal)

ip firewall src-nat
add src-address=0.0.0.0/0 dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 action=masquerade

This should allow traffic between the interfaces and your local and wide area networks so you should be able to ping and telnet from either side.
