Hi guys,
I have a bit of a problem whit a migration from 5.5 to 2003.
Let me explain , we have been running both server for a while and all usermailboxes are migrated to the new server.
Now we wanted to decommision the old 5.5 and run just with 2003.There is where it went wrong.
Instead of following this the server was not removed the right way.
The server was removed with running the setup and the option
remove.
Now the server 2003 is running fine but I can see this 5.5 server when I look at the Public Folders properties in System Manager, however there appears no way to remove it and the heirarchy is still trying to be replicated to this 5.5 server.
How can I resolve this and get ridd of this 5.5 server.
Thanks

Dear Filland,

Sorry to disturb you, I intend to migrate our infrastructure from NT4, Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003. could you please give me advice, documents... Thanks in advance

As long as you’ve moved all resources (replicated Public folders and moved mailboxes) and all the users successfully logged and got repointed to the server I don’t see a significant problem.
Delete the CA (connection agreements) which you have created. You can not delete the default CA which is automatically created – it will disappear when you delete the SRS service. You will not be able to delete the SRS service until you remove the Exchange 5.5 server. Try to use the Exchange 5.5 administrator which is installed with the installation of Exchange 2003. If you haven’t installed it run the installation of Exchange 2003 again, choose custom and choose Exchange 5.5 management tools.
If you are not able to delete the Exchange 5.5 server through the Exchange 5.5 admin program you have to delete it through ADSIEdit.
Once you remove it you should be able to delete SRS. Then the default CA will disappear and you can uninstall ADC. I prefer to uninstall it by running the installation program and choosing the uninstall option instead of using ADD/Remove programs.
If you have upgraded the ADC like this:

then use the ADC installation files included in SP2 to uninstall the ADC.

The last step will be to switch your Exchange org to native mode.
