I am in the process of migrating my file server (NT 4.0 sp6a) to w2k sp2. I am looking for a way to move the local groups, and shares off while I perform a clean install of w2k, and then move the shares, and groups back. Anybody have any ideas?
Could you make a good backup of the NT box, and upgrade that to 2000 first? This might take care of the problem automatically. We upgraded our NT4.0 box, and the users and groups showed up in the users and groups box under my computer. Good luck. Glen A. Johnson

I have a file server that I am migrating to w2k. I am looking for the most effecient way to upgrade. I am going to perform a clean install of 2000. I need to move the local groups, shares, and permissions but need to leave the data, then install 2000, and move perms, shares, and groups back. I am searching for a utility to do this but haven't had any luck, all the utils want to move the data, and I can't because of the amount of data, and time it would take to move it off, and back again.
