Hello,

When migrating data from Meridian Mail to Call Pilot do the user mailboxes retain their passwords?

Are menu's (AA Trees) the only items that needs to be be rebuilt and then matched up to the migrated greetings?

Thanks,

Wndy

the answers to your questions depend on how you migrate. Nortel has a tool that techs use to perform this migration which tends to retain most settings.

as for passwords, i think they retain them. why else would it be called a migration?

Yes I understand that it migrates the data that the techs can choose through the meridian main utilites migration tool. But no where can I get a for sure answer that says YES passwords migrate -

Thanks,

Wendy, I asked a few places that upgraded from Mermail to CP, and in each case the users had their same password as they did in their MerMail box

Gene, Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for. No one could give me a straight answer and might and may be would not cut it.

Wendy

To elaborate on what Gene says, All mailbox data will be retained such as passwords, greetings, messages, etc. When you open AppBuilder, you will see all of the old MerMail menus and announcement definitions listed as ASxxxx or MSxxxx. You will have to open those applications and fill out the flow chart. The greetings from MerMail will come to those applications as well.

Tip: Get all users out of COS 0 (personal COS in MerMail) Users will not migrate if they are in the personal COS.

Good point.

Wendy, moving users from CLS 0 to any other CLS is really easy.

You just do a "Find" and then assign them all with one button.
