Hey all,

I am really a newbie to websites - when i say a newbie, i used to do some basic websites.

I fancied creating a personal webpage. Now i used to use frames for my webpage, but i found these to be quite messy. They did have there use that you could have menus/etc that didnt have to reload.

Now i was told i should be able to do similar stuff with DIV tags, or Layers. What i cant work out in either is if in one area, i want to link to a file - but get it appearing in another area.... i cant seem to.

I hope this makes at least some sense.

No D, just plank - and its not my fault

You could use show hide layer behaviour, also try using includes instead of Frames

I tried with Layers - never really liked it.

Instead i am doing some includes - and i really like.

Thanks for your help

No worries, we have been using a menu as an include file on an intranet with about 1500 pages for some time now. if it changes at leats there is only 1 file to upload rather than the lot if we used templates
