Hi All,

We purchase a new 2003 Server with the intent to migrate our NT domain to the new domain controller; this is the first time for me and want to ensure that I have what I need to successfull perform the migration. Is there anyone that has perform this migration that could provide me information that will help walk me through the process.

I was not sure if there was any additional information outside of the books discussing the topic of migrating to 2003. I appreciate any information you can provide.

Thanks,

Thomas

Thomas,
Have you found any information on how to go from NT4 to 2k (not 03)? Our sys admin is stuck and as a hobbiest it's fallen down to me who has never dealt with the domain system in windows, only DNS on the net. Thanks.

All the information that I ever retrieve came from various sites that I search via google and Microsofts website; I am just not certain if that is enough to perform the migration or not. I need to know what the exact steps are and what to be mindful of when doing the migration.

cant you just take a clone of the existing server and apply it to the new server as is and see if it boots up, then upgrade the new server and let 2003 do its magic in pulling your existing domain into AD
