We are migrating our users from Impromptu v4 to v6 and have some reports that are producing different (wrong!!) totals on v6. Has anybody come accross this? (and got a resolution?)

Hi Dave, we're using Orible Oracle!!

I've managed to track down a contractor who used to work with us and he recommends removing the totals, saving the .imr in V6, open it back up and re-inserting the totals and he thinks that should do the trick.??

I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply.

Jim,

The problem probably stems the new 'capability' in Impromptu 6 when Cognos added the 'help' of automatically applying a DECODE function whenever an If-Then-Else function is used. This 'improvement' has been a pain in the butt, and most serious report developers have long since disabled it. To do this modify the Impromptu INI with:

[Query Options]
use automatic ORACLE Decode=0

Try your reports after this change (close and then restart Impromptu after the change). Let me know if it fixes it.
