I ran ADMT to bring in NT user (one test user) to AD.

I ran the deployment wizard to bring in the mail box (one test mailbox) from 5.5 to 2003 exchange server? didnt ran ADC

both step ran succesfully.

now how do I connect user in new network (win 2003) acces mail box from new exchange server(2003 exchange server).
I dont see exchange tab for user property in AD.
Am I doing something wrong here.

you have to install the exchange system tools on the DC if that is where you are trying to connect the mailboxes. You can use ADUC on the exchange server though. Right click the user and go to exchange tasks. If the mailbox is allready on the exchange 2003 server find the mailbox and right click it and select reconnectr mailbox and then select the user. Remember only one mailbox per user. If you try to select someone that is allready assigned a mailbox you will receive an error.

what is aduc?
what I am trying to do is testing migration of mail boxes from exchange 5.5 to exchange 2003.
connecting mail boxes to AD user's.
and testing it from 2003 network client PC.

I have successfully migrated user from NT domain to 2003 domain.
I have successfully migrated mailbox from exchange 5.5 to exchange 2003. (using deployment wizard)

Now how can I assing a mailbox to AD user.when I right click AD user properties I dont see exchange tab?

thanks in advance

You must install rhe Exchange System Manager on the DC.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

what will exchange system manager do? can you please tell me more about it? why do I need that on DC?

ADUC is AD Users and Computers. Basically the version that ships with Windows 2000/2003 doesn't have Exchange functionality in it, you need to use the version supplied with Exchange which has the extended tabs for configuring Exchange properties (you also need to select advanced options within the ADUC MMC).
