Hi All

I migrated my old Exchange 5.5 on SBS 4.5 NT4.0 server ( old domain ) onto new Exchange 2003 SP1( Windows 2003 SP1 new domain ).

I use ExSync to migrate public folder, because I can't make trust relationship between domians(one of them is SBS 4.5).

Is anybody knows How I can migrate public folder permissions ?

Any ideas ???

Tom

Try these:

OK thanks for reply

But How I can use PFMIGRATE when it requires that both exchange servers must be in one routing group.

I have old SBS 4.5 server in old NT4.0 domain

Hmm, I didn't realize that.

Looks like you may be stuck with migrating using Outlook to creat PST files and will need to resetup the permissions by hand.

I hope you find this post helpful.

When I use epoxrt/import pst file public folder permissions are migrated but How I can migrate custom forms that are linked with public folder objects ?

Tom

Thanks Mark

It will work, but I have about 10 GB data in public folder structure and lot of custom forms and views existing in folders ( as Outlook folders type ) so this will be a work for few hours or maybe two days.

So if I don't find a good solution, I'll prefere to use ExSync and recreate permissions manually

Tom

Your major problem it seems here is that you didn't upgrade the exisiting domain and don't have your servers in the same Exchange site, so you are limited by the way you did your upgrade.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Suggestion: setup a temp server on the NT4 domain as a BDC. Promote to PDC. Upgrade to Windows 2003. Install Exchange 2003. Migrate public folders to 2003. Shut down the public store and move the file over to the new domain.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Yes this migrate scenario is very limited, because source domain is SBS 4.5 so there is only one domain controler ( PDC ) and I can't promote any other BDC. Upssss....
