My customer took the opportunity to purchase a 6 term Aloha 6.7.52 TS system from another store in the same chain that was closing to replace his 7 term Aloha 6.7.31 TS. He also picked up their menus so we don't have to worry about changing or migrating the menu items/pricing on the new system - he'll just use those from the other restaurant.
I would appreciate help in making this swap happen to try to avoid "gotchas" and to try to keep from doing excess work if possible.
1. How do we transfer employee, tax, credit card, company info, etc. from the old system to the new system without having someone enter it all by hand? Again I would like to avoid replacing the menu/pricing info on the new system during the transfer.
2. Can we transfer historical data from the old BOH to the new BOH, or do we need to keep the old BOH available if that data is needed?
3. I notice on the old BOH that there are daily folders dating back about 6 years (I'm guessing these are daily backups or reconciliation folders from doing end of day?) Do these need to be copied to the new BOH? Are these of any help in doing the migration?
4. Is there anything else I should be asking? (My expertise in this is more along the lines of networking and hardware with general software knowledge.)
Thanks for your help!
Bob
