Hey everyone,

The hardware my VMPro server is running on is getting a little old, and I'm wanting to put it on something else. Any tips on moving the data to a new machine?

This is what I'm guessing I'll need to do:

1. Export and then Import the call flow
2. Copy the WAV files that are stored somewhere on the existing machine
3. Point the IPO towards the new machine for VM, Licensing, etc.

Any help or advice you could send my way would be great.

Thanks,

Daniel

P.S. I'm thinking of trying to migrate this system to a Xen Virtual machine, has anyone tried it? Does anyone know if VMPro will have timing issues due to no direct physical hardware like Asterisk does?

Indeed export the database and just copy the complete VM folder

Then you will not loose mailboxes full with messages

ACS - Implement IP Office

Thanks tlpeter for confirming my methodology. I'll be giving it a shot tonight!!

To get specific, the folders needed from the VM directory are:

Accounts
Names
Greetings
WAVS

If they use Campaigns then get that one too.

Import the database, copy these folders to new server, and restart VM Pro service. Re-point IP Office to new VM Server (including File Server address if needed for TFTP), save and reboot IPO.

Should be good to go. If you're using USB or Parallel license dongle don't forget to install the Key Server and re-point that on the IPO as well (including installing the Sentinel System Driver for USB).

You can also use a batch file to export and reimport the registry settings (things like Intuity / IPO mode, retention times etc)

Take Care

My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
