Hi everyone.
I am about to retire an Exchange server due to old hardware.

I am wondering what is the best way to do this hardware migration. Does anyone knokw of a path that works best. Should I keep the same netbios name and IP?

Again, not sure what path to take. Any documentation would be great.

Thanks

Found it. I quess I should have looked there first huh.

Was wondering if anyone here has actually followed the procedures on Q297289. Just wanted to know of any gotchas before hand.

Thanks lander

I am (STILL) in the process of moving Exchange to another server but not keep the same name. I built the new Exchange server and followed these instructions: Everything was working fine until the new server had hardware problems, and had to start over again. Using this method, there is little off time work. Moving mailboxes with ADUC works fine, and the client outlook will find the new server. Good Luck.

Thanks JAC5528.
I am trying to prevent having to go to all the client machines and re-direct Outlook to the new server name.

Thanks
