Hello guys ,

hope you doing well , stay safe.

i have a couple question , about Migrating a solution of Avaya Aura 7.1 , CM from duplex to simplex .

1- is there is a simple conversion from Maintenance page ? or i should implement new ova with simplex configuration and backup my customer configuration into it ?
2- is the licence should be replaced by CM Simplex 7.1 when i do the conversion?

License doesn't matter.

Simplex and Duplex are different OVAs, so you'd need to rebuild.

Or be lazy and just turn the old one off.

Depending on where your ESS is located, you might not want to move away from Duplex.
Just think of this, do you want to switch over to the ESS to just do a maintenance reboot of the CM, when in Duplex, you reboot the standby, force a switch over to the standby (making it Primary) then reboot the Standby.

No. I don't recall ever having to do that, and I putz around in the lab a lot.

Back in the 5.2 days it cared about server model/memory size, etc.

Your license is hosted on a WebLM somewhere - maybe SMGR. If that's not changing, then you'd just point your new CM server to that weblm instead.

Maybe they didn't follow the rules and put them in 2 data centers with too much latency between the separated server pair and bad things happen a lot :)
