Anyone know how to migrate user clients from one Antivirus server over to a new server? Also, how to we force the clients to point to the new server as opposed to the old one, after the migration?

Thanks

Thanks a lot for the response

I tried the grc.dat method but it looks like it's not working out. I might be in a sticky situation.

The clients are running version 8.0, the current AV server is running 8.0 as well but the new AV server is running 10.2. I believe this might be the issue, is there any methods of moving 8.0 clients from an 8.0 server to a new 10.2 server?

Thanks

Nevermind, after a reboot on the old av server, it looks okay now. On one of the clients, it's showing the new server as the primary server.

The problem is, on the new server, it's not showing any computers in the symantec system center.

I'm not sure of the steps you took setting everything up, but if you copy both the GRC.DAT and the .cer security certificate to each client they should migrate over. I got a script that you can use if you have permissions to copy over files to clients, let me know if this works and I'll post the script.

Server File Locations (may be different dir)
C:\Program Files\SAV\pki\roots\?servergroupca.cer
C:\Program Files\SAV\GRC.DAT

Client File Locations (may be different dir)
C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\pki\roots\?servergroupca.cer
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition\7.5\GRC.DAT
