I need assistance with IIS/CE.
We have :
W2K3 std. server with IIS operational
CE v. 8 is installed
Named b1

We had (here is where it gets a little convoluted, but I am adding just in case)
W2K adv. Server with IIS operational
CE v. 8 installed
Named fubar

The name of the old server had been b1 and is now fubar. The name of the new server had been test and is now b1.

The fubar server had a few too many disk failures and had to be retired. In the process of retiring we of course brought up test server to test all apps. and the such. Everything worked fine including being able to run and view existing reports we copied from the fubar server. Once we brought down the fubar server and renamed test to b1 we noticed that CE was not communicating properly. After uninstalling both IIS and CE and then installing both IIS and CE we are now able to browse the directories as before but when we try to run the reports we get the generic “The page cannot be found” “HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
Internet Information Services (IIS)”

I cant imagine that the issues I am having have anything to do with the different OS’s due to the fact that the reports were running before I renamed.

Mr. Million

Have you successfully pinged the server and then removed the server from the network and notice that things are failing?

Is this a static or dhcp server?

An update on this post:

We have re-installed the Operating System, added to the domain (AD) with the same name, the server has a static IP (same as the original machine that failed) and re-installed the CE with the default settings. Originally I was involved with mainly setting up a domain user that could start services on that machine because the APS service, for instance, needed it. I really do not have much experience with Crystal or IIS. We are still able to browse through directories and reach the RPT file but, cannot open/view.

Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
