we are using a 3584 tape library using lto1 tapes now they want us to use lto2 tapes i would like to ask how the procedures in migrating our existing tapes of lto1 to lto2

thanks in advance

I would create another primary storgae pool and assign the new LTO2 tapes to this storage pool and then use move nodedata to get the data onto the new tapes. Of course that relies on your 3584 having more than one drive so that you can copy from tape to tape. If you haven't then create a file sequential primary storage pool and copy the lto1 tapes in here and then onto the lto2 tapes in the new storage pool.

cheers

Martin
