how tough is it to do? can I take the cfg file and push it into the 500 successfully?

Yes you can, you just send the config and if you have ports that match i.e a phone 2 or phone 8 and a Dig card in the 500 it will ask which phone card it is (8 or 2) and then it will map the ports to match the 406 config.

Have done it several times and it works great, in case you were wondering if you put a phone 8 in the system will add extra numbers on the extra 6 ports (compared to the 406v2) it will not move the numbers from where Dig ports were in the 406.

Never tried that one, check the Docs I'm sure they have thought of it and made it work.

You could always export parts of the config as a csv and import the different parts if it wont take the full config.
