Hey guys quick question, I think I know the answer but just to confirm. I have a customer with a MICS. He's thinking about going from POTS to Centrex which will require him to dial 9. Right now when he goes off hook, the set will automatically pick up an outside line. Is there any way we can mask or insert the 9 access code?

TIA

You can build a Hot Dial and force the 9 out.

Try setting up a destination code of 9 and a route with the dial-out number a 9 also. works for me.

He's primed to outside line now. So, he doesn't have a dest. code. I don't believe there is a way. I would tell the customer that 9 is from telco and w/o you building a route that would insert the 9, which would require you dialing a 9 for the Nortel, to insert a 9 for telco. Waste of time.

Most lecs can bury the centrex digit- ATT calls it "assumed digit". I'm not sure how this affects the billing of calls within the centrex group, but they've done it for us in the past when it's been an issue.
