MICS v1 some phones stopped auto answering

I have a client with an old MICS. She got it used and we trade services(she's a vet so I fix her phones and she fixes my cats). It is on version 1(aka no terminals and sets like I'm use to) and she doesn't want to spend the money to upgrade. After many long hours back in August, I got everything to work right. Now 2 of the phones will no longer auto answer. By that I mean, when the phone rings and you pick up the hand set, the call does not get picked up. You have to press the line button to answer. Of the 8 sets, 6 work fine still but 2 don't. These 2 also stopped working with voice calls. When one of the working phones places a voice call to one of the none working phones, the calling party can hear the called party, but the called party can not hear the calling party. At 1st I thought this was a volume problem but that does not seem to be the case. I'm not sure if the 2 issues are related or some how both occured together coincedntally(which seems unlikely). I have poured over every setting in **config and can find no differences. I have even done a set copy to each extension with no luck. I have not tried a new set because they are both wall phones that are extremly diffcult to take down and I didn't have an extra line cord with me. I will bring one the next time I go back but I feel this is more of a programming issue then a physical phone issue. Thanks for any help.
 

Are you referring to an incoming call (or just an intercom call)? a) are these sets still programmed to ring on the incoming call?
b) is this a hook switch problem?


Sounds like a speaker issue on the called set. Does the phone work the other way?

It's odd that 2 phones would have the same issue at the same time. Before you swap phones (you said it was difficult) maybe swap ports on the system 1st.
 
Good call on the port switch. Fortunetly I checked for an update before leaving. I feel stupid for not thinking about it. It was indeed a hook switch issues. When picking up the hand set, it would not reconize the off hook. I swapped with the spare phone and everything worked when it was sitting on the desk. I get everything remounted and tested again, and the problem came back. I have not searched for an answer yet, but I will after this post. Even after putting the phone back on on a flat desk, it won't recognize off hook. Seems odd that I have 3 bad sets. These are M7310's btw. Thanks for the help.

The behaviours you are describing happen when the handset is plugged into the headset jack.

All you have to do is plug the handset into the handset jack.
