Looking thru the posts regarding upgrades to MICS I'm trying to clarify the process between myth and reality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have MICS 5.0 that I want to upgrade to 7.1 and add a PRI. It may already have PRI keycode - but client is unsure and we cannot locate paperwork. Is it true that I can look at hardware provisioning and if PRI is a choice then PRI is active? Assuming that PRI is activated can I simply remove the 5.0 pcm card and replace it with a 6.1 and not lose system ID or any programming? (I will make backup with NRU before I attempt this) Assuming that works - can I repeat that process with a 7.1 pcm cartridge? Assuming I have a release 1 nvram at what stage should I swap to a release 2 and how do I preserve programming, sys id, PRI keycode? Is the upgrade tool my answer?
Related to this scenario - I have a MICS rel 6.1 mr system with a PRI activated - can I replace the 6.1 with a 7.1 pcm and retain programming and sys id so I don't lose the PRI keycode?
