MICS - slow internal dialtone response

I have a customer with a MICS 5.0 with PRI. It has 2 station mods. 6 port exp. 1 clocking card.

On certain phones, when the handset is lifted for making a call - no internal dialtone is returned for approx 5-10 secs. When answering the phone - same thing. No connectivity to the party for 5-10 secs. Once connection is made - call quality is fine.

This occurred on one phone - so I replaced the phone and it has been working. Then it occurred on another phone. Replaced and OK. Now I have 3 more phones. They are not on the same module.

Any thoughts? I'm going to site tomorrow and can check the event codes.

I've seen delayed responses on systems with XC software but not usually on the smaller stuff...

Try upgrading the MICS and see if the problem goes away.

Any PRI on software below 6.1MR is unreliable.

Quick thought is sluggish system calls for a wipe out and Reinstall to clear bugs, it depends on the history of this system but upgrade to 7.1 would be a good idea.
