Hello all, In the years of working with basic Norstar installations I have not had a customer with the need for DID. I now have a customer that would like DID on at least 5 of their lines (When they purchase the new system from us) and I have not programmed DID on Norstar to this day. Is this a dfficult programming issue? And if it can be explained in a reply thread that would be great or directed to the proper programming procedure would help as well. They will be getting a 12 line MICS with a Call Pilot 100 and the newest software. Thanks

I'm new to this as well, I put a post on about DID programming but am still also waiting for how to do it !!!

From what I can work out (And I am not in the telecoms industry) Lines 13x onwards are virtual lines which relate to the DID numbers on ISDN physical lines. These virtual lines need to be allocated to 1 extension (or hunt group) rather than allocating them to line pools. Thus when someone from the outside world dials a DID (or DDI as we call them here in the UK) it automatically rings on that extension. Hey presto Direct dial to individual extensions.

I would also imagine that you can then set that extension (or hunt group) if unavailable (no answer or busy) to forward to another group/extension or voicemail.

I'll be watching this thread for a more professional answer as I am setting up a similar system internally.

Try the thread below, you can also do a search for Target Lines. Because that is where the DID's (rec digits) come in on and those are the lines that you will assign to the phones. The start of Target Line numbering will depend on the System & Software that you are using.
