MICS Problem

Have a friend with MICS not sure of vintage...said that one station is dead, he tried replacing set..no help. Said that when dialing numbers the phones seem to be slow, digits take awhile to appear on display when dialing, console has alarm that say's 50-3.
Anyone have an idea what I can tell him to get things going?
 
Stop using that port. Phone could have taken a coke/coffe bath that killed the port.

Might be something fixable. If you move the replacement phone to a new port with set relocation turned on, does the problem follow that phone?
 
Thanx Rob...we did some further checking...the MOX16 seems to have a problem..the red light is blinking on the module, had him disconnect wire and stayed the same..then had him disconnect the 25pr cable and it did the same even with being powered down and back up again...Do you think the SM has a problem?
 
If the light is blinking, I bet it is a bad SM. That light should be solid on. Might check the power going to it, just in case it's overloaded or a bad outlet. Use entension cord to run to an outlet in another area, just ot rule that out.
