I have a MICS with a call pilot. Calls ring receptionist and if no answer auto attendat answers after 4 rings. When on night service calls ring a group of phones and after 4 rings general del mbox. I want to set this up with 4 rings to AA. If I add the vm dn to the night it auto answers. I tried a Hunt group with the overflow the vm dn, but in night service I cant add the hunt group dn. Whats the best way to make this happen?

You're set up should work. It looks like what's happening is 1 or maybe all of the phones in that ring group are set to FNA to vmaill after 4 rings. If this happens then the call tries to go to a mailbox before AA gets to answer it. You can either have AA answer after 3 rings or bump the FNA of the phones to 5 or 6.

Allworksguy, what would a answer key do?

Hawks, i understand your point but gd is on the reception phone and that rings during day nd with both set to 4 the aa takes priority.

Actually it might be easier just to put the night ring phones in the night ring group. Be sure the AA answers before the call forward timers of the phones kick in.

HG and Ans DN just complicate things.

endless I understand it works during the day but once you turn on services the system acts a little different. Not really sure why, but as a test lower the AA rings and test. Could 1 of your phones be set to forward after 3 rings instead of 4? If it does and don't have a maibox then it would also go to GD.

Sounds like you are trying to do something the system was not designed to do and that is Transfer or Forward No Answer calls to AA.
Once Night Service is activated the call becomes a Transfer.....i.e. Service Mode answers and transfers to the members programmed immediately, any AA settings will not matter.

Only some systems can a human transfer back to AA using a feature code.

If you record your general message for people to press * to return to Auto Attendant then there is no issue....return to AA must be set to Yes.

Or maybe try to fool it somehow.....

Choose an unused DN
Change Intercoms keys to equal NONE (or 0)
Forward No Answer to vmails DN
Add that DN to your night service.(or overflow hunt group to that DN)
Test

or

Choose an unused DN
Forward No Answer to vmails DN
Build an Info mailbox to match the unused DN.
Record a second of silence.
Add that DN to your night service.
Test

or

Choose an unused DN
Forward No Answer to vmails DN
Build a subsciber mailbox to match the unused DN.
Record a second of silence under the ALT greeting
Set Take Messages to NO
Add that DN to your night service.

The problem was one of the phones in the night group was set to forward to voicmail on less rings than all the others. This phone was overlooked because it dosnt have a voicemail box, and thats why it was routing to GD box.

Thanks!
