I have a customer that wants to add a DOC to his system and where his phone will be going will be in an inside hallway with cameras. My question is can I use a T7316 or an ata with a single line phone set up connected with the DOC or do I have to use the Doorphone box? I see why the doorbox is used externally on a building but can you use another phone inside and out of the weather? Thank You for any input
Mike

Good question never thought of that. But the Door phone works with the DOC, that is where the programming is for what type of opener the DOC uses.

Never tried anything other than a door phone. Would be curious to find out if it works.

You would have to use a doorphone.

Otherwise, you won't have anything to connect to the Data Input terminals on the DOC.

Also, the doorphone uses both the B1 and the B2 channels. The B1 channel carries the voice and the B2 channel carries the data for the DOC. Digital phones and the ATA only use the B1 channel.
