not sure where to post this so appoliges if in the wrong forum
Got my new PC all set up and plugged in the headset to the ports in the front of the PC to test the mic and speakers(have Vista home by the way) all worked fine in vista.
Downloaded skype tested ok call my sister overseas all good.
However when i installed teamspeak i can hear everyone else but they can't hear me. The mic is turmed on in Teamspeak options and the sensitivity has been tried bot up and down but to no avail.

Regards
Max

I have never used Teamspeak, but most of those gaming-related chat programs don't leave the mic open all the time. You normally have to hit a specific key to talk. Otherwise you hear a lot of heavy breathing, which is a bit annoying.

There’s an option in TS to use push to talk or open mic. I forgot where it is exactly(been so long) but just go through the tabs and you will see the option. FYI ventrilo is better, has better quality and its cheaper in my option.

Indeed, Vent is vastly superior.

You can't get much cheaper than free with TS, I use both Vent and TS and to be honest they are pretty much like for like (hosted solution for Vent, self hosted by a mate for TS), we get much more lag on the Vent server compared to the TS one.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

That'll be down to the host, our hosted servers never get any lag!

Hey max did you try shutting off hot mic (open mic) and use push to talk and see if that works. Also try looking at your options to make sure that TS is looking for your mic and not something else.

Never use these apps, but do a lot of VoIP.

Does this software use a specific port? If so is it open in both directions on your firewalls?

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."

Thanks guys i'll check some settings and let you all know

Ok none of that worked.:-( If i go to click to talk the green light comes on but no one can hear me, I can hear them and they can see the green light as well. and yes the mic was turned on and volume was turned up. The firewall is set to let it through.
any other ideas.

You have checked to make sure that the mic connector is actually connected to the sound card haven't you?

Have you tried the port at the rear of the case?

Simon

The conector at front works with skype and with vista mic test
