I have a MICS 7 with stations that have lines assigned to them in a hunt group. That was working fine until about a week ago, when they first reported crackling, and then reported that they do not get any dial tone when they lift their receivers.

When I lift the receiver on one of those stations, I see the expected line (062) on the display, although there is no dial tone. Dialing a number gets no response; it just sits there.

If I remove two of the lines (assign them to different groups), the stations do get dial tone.

The lines test out ok; if I put a test set on any of the three lines, they come up with dial tone, and respond with the correct phone number from the telco.

Inbound calls do ring at the stations, they just can't make any outbound calls, since they don't get dial tone. This would also seem to confirm that there is no problem with the line wiring.

Is it possible that this might be a line card failure ?

It would appear that you don"t have any dial tone on the vary most left hand card in the 12x0 module connected to exp port 3 of the expansion module,if you have another card in there you could turn off the system and frog it with the other card and then repower and see if it restores dial tone to lines 61-64.This assumes you have dial tone connected to all 4-lines if so then you would need to replace the card
