Folks, we are changing out our old Comdial KS to a Norstar MICS w/7.1. According to our tech, the old system could send station's DN to the remote long distance company (in this case Verizon). Verizon then apparently can break out the LD calls via the DZ on the VZ bill. In that way, each department would be responsible for the LD calls they had made, just by viewing the DN that made the call. I have never run into this before. Is is possible to do this in MICS? (FYI VZ has given them an 8-digit code that apparently is inserted into the DTMF stream sent through the LEC to VZ). I dunno....suggestions please?

Sounds like you're using project codes for you're long distance dialing. I don't think I've ever seen a system
that would automatically output project codes, but you
could program the project code under a button which the
user could press when prompted by VZ.

you could even set up different destination codes for different project codes such as a destination code of 92 could drop the 92 (all) and insert 123456. If you are going this way keep away from lusing 91 as a destination code. (too easy to inadvertantly dial 911 later.)
