I am trying to link two sites together. What is in place now are some VoIP analog boxes and DID cards. They do not have the features the company wants, so I wanted to move to E&M cards.
I have always walked in after the E&M cards were in place, so I am trying to get an understanding of the requirements. T1 card or BRI card, Any other cards?
I'm not sure exactly how that site is set up, but a typical setup for two sites would be a point to point DS1 (w/or w/o q.931)with a CSU/DSU @ each end breaking out channels; some for voice, some for data. Each Norstar would use a DTI card (and PRI keycodes if you want a prime). What type of 'features' is the company looking for?
They want to be able to transfer calls site to site, have the name of the individual calling from another office show up, effectively, they would like the systems to act as closely as one as they can accomplish.
Also, it is possible to do a F986 and dump a caller right into VM on the remote end when set up using E&M cards?
If you can do the E&M then all you need are the cards to call between sites. But you will not get the Features that you are asking for with that set up.
You Need to switch to a point to point with a DTI card (T1)and pri enabler to get CLID.Also a MCDN keycode to pass this info. But you will not get to pass featutes to the other side. You will beable to transfer from 1 side to another. But for VM is a transfer to the phone and it will folow the FWD no ans to the VM extention on the other side.
E&M wont do that.
